Football Update
What a week for the Y6 football team.
On Monday, we visited Bedwell to play our last league game of the season. We were 4th in the table and as the league stood, we had to win against Bedwell to remain in 4th (Bedwell had a game in hand and if we lost against them they would have pushed us out of 4th to 5th) but thankfully, the team had the game of the season with goals galore and took home a 7-1 victory - securing their 4th place position and meaning Bedwell could not snatch it away even if they win their game in hand. Well done to all the players, every one of them worked so hard. Player's player Cleo. Manager's player Alex.
Then, the very next day on Tuesday, we played in the Schools Cup semi-final against St Margarets. It was not the best start as we went 1-0 down from an early goal and it was looking at being a very tight game. But the Almond Hill squad really pulled it together and after some highs and lows, went on to win 3-2 securing their place in the final against Woolenwick School (who have the top spot in Division 1!). It was a double celebration as not only did we win but it was also George's birthday so celebration and cheer was all around! A massive well done to the whole team which includes those who did not get game time and did so with grace and humility. Player's player: Arthur, Manager's player: Teddy. We're off to the final everyone woooohooooo!
