Stem Discovery Centre - Year 5
On Tuesday 22nd March, year 5 went to the Stem Discovery Centre. The first room we went in was the exhibit room. There were lots of activities for us to do including a plasma ball (a glass ball with electricity which gives small electric shocks) and a model of a human body that you have to correctly put the organs in. The next activity was a talk about Mars and the Mars Rover. We learnt about 4 other robots called Bridgett, Bruno, Bryan and Roseline Franklin and saw where they test them out. We then decorated bags. We had a small canister which we filled with paint. Then we put the canister face down and mixed paint with a small tablet. This caused a chemical reaction and eventually exploded and splat painted your bag. Our final activity was that we watched star stories in the dark and learnt about Greek mythology.
