Issue 34 - 20th June 2024

Dear Families,

Teachers have begun writing end of year reports for children. These will be sent home via Arbor during the week commencing 15th July. Therefore, it is essential you have access to the Arbor Parent Portal. We would suggest having the app downloaded on your mobile device for easy access. As we move forward with Arbor, we will streamline some of our current services so parents have a ‘one stop shop’ for school related admin. If you need any help with access, please contact the school office. If they are not able to help you, they are able to contact Arbor support on your behalf.

We hope families enjoy the INSET and Occasional days tomorrow and Monday and look forward to seeing you again on Tuesday 25th June.

Key Messages

SEND/Pastoral

Thank you to everyone who took the time to provide feedback on the SEND and Pastoral sessions for parents. We completely appreciate the limitations for working parents and understand this can be a barrier for attending school events. It was suggested that we hold a session before school which is not something we had considered so thank you, we will certainly think about this as an option going forward. We will still hold the planned coffee morning SEND/Pastoral coffee morning on Tuesday 16th July with a slightly earlier start time of 8.30am - your child can either stay with you or go to the nurture breakfast club which is held in the computer room for specific children (no need to book in advance for this date). It has also been mentioned that some parents may not have felt able to attend as their child does not have an ‘official diagnosis’. We welcome all parents to attend (with or without a diagnosis) if they feel they would benefit from speaking to our SENCo and/or our pastoral team. In our experience almost all children benefit from pastoral support during their journey at school. Examples of where this has been supportive in the past are when friendship issues arise, loss of a pet, online issues outside of school, family break up and bereavement.

Year 5 Parent Meeting – Grafham Water Trip - Wednesday 3rd July at 6pm.

It is wonderful to see so many responses to our parents meeting with Miss Simmons on Wednesday 3rd July. Here you will have the opportunity to find out more about the trip and ask any questions you may have. Year 5 children are welcome to attend with parents/carers. When you arrive, please enter the school via the drop off gates. The hall can be accessed from the quadrant.
